A round up of North Shore restaurant and food news.
When you're looking for a night out and a break from cooking, you might want to know what's new not only where you live, but also in other North Shore communities. Here's our round up of the area's latest food news: Pazzo Gelato opened for business recently. Check out this video from their opening day. It's something we hear a lot in the towns we cover — "Will our town be getting a Trader Joe's?" The grocer often leads the list when we ask residents what store they'd like to see come to town. Well, our intrepid editor in North Andover has uncovered how Trader Joe's makes its corporate decisions about where they'll go next. But bad news for North Andover. They almost certainly will never, ever come to North Andover. There's sweet news out …

Looking for a used luxury vehicle on the North Shore or in the Andovers? Here are some choices.
If you're in the market for a luxury ride, here are some of the choices available on lots and showrooms on the North Shore and in the Andovers. 1. 2005 Bentley Continental GT, $69,900 This dreamy blue Bentley has 35,357 miles on it. The 12 cylinder engine doesn't sip gas at an average of 12 MPG. But that's hardly the point, right? With this ride, the only thing to sip is champagne. Available at the Automall Collection in Peabody. For more information, visit AOL Autos. 2. 2011 Land Rover Range Rover Supercharged, $66,900 This stylish brute has a luxury package that includes back-up cameras and heated seats that remember who you are and what settings you prefer. The 8-cyclinder engine has 32,931 miles on it. This beautiful machine is also …

The homeowner certainly believes so.
At the end of Bridle Path stands a big yellow house on 3.6 acres of secluded land and an interior fit for a magazine. You'd think people would be racing to put offers in, but it's been so difficult to sell that the price was just reduced by $200,000. "I can't figure out why this house isn't selling," Margo Kealler, the homeowner, said as she walked into her gourmet kitchen. "This kitchen was once in a magazine." Kealler -- who runs her business, Park Street Travel, out of her home -- believes what's keeping buyers away isn't inside the house, but rather outside. Down a slope from her house sits a beaver pond, and Kealler said several potential buyers have shown up, looked at the pond and left. Kealler and her husband built the house at 257…

She comes from a long line of barbers.
Diane Nocco started cutting hair when she was 16 years old. Her grandfather and father were barber -- the family owns Bob's in Tewksbury -- and she and her sister both decided to follow in the family trade. And now, Nocco is bringing her skills to North Andover. John Moffat recently sold his business, North Andover Barber Shop in the Chickering Plaza, to Nocco. But to Johns many loyal clients: don't worry. He still has a chair at the shop and will be there every Friday and Saturday. He'll also be managing an apple orchard in Littleton, and selling the barber shop allows him to spend more time with his wife and baby. Nocco jumped at the opportunity to buy the shop. "Well I saw a good opportunity here, with the barber shop for sale, and it's…

I'm hoping to drive my old beater into the ground before we need to get another car, but I'm on the lookout. What's your next car going to be?
My wife and I drive a perfectly good 2002 Nissan Sentra with 127,318 miles on it. "Stella" has four wheels and gets us from Point A to Point B. We've reached the stage in the life of the car where we don't repair body damage (as you can tell from the accompanying photo). I'm ashamed for my Dad to see it. But hey, it's paid for. Even though I'd love to get 200K miles out of Stella, she has some mechanical problems, like a seized bolt that has left the transmission fluid unchangeable for about eight years. She could conk out any old day. So we've been on the lookout for our next car. I'm paying attention to car commercials, asking friends about their cars. You know the feeling. We're looking for something that gets good gas mileage, and is …

This IS a real find; the kind of house that's really a home. Smolak Farms is nearby and the very dead end of a beautiful cul de sac neighborhood adds to the setting. Customized with many details, plenty of place for kids and adults to enjoy outside and inside. If you're a nature lover but enjoy convenience and comfort, check it out.   more ›
