Any attorneys out there? If a shelter knowingly promotes a myth such as "The Nanny Dog" toRead More place dogs and one of those pit bulls attacks and injures someone, does that nullify the waiver/contract? Could be some money to be made going after the shelters insurance. I'm interested to know.

I don't know who Boss Hogg is, why they're so in love with the comical redneck villain of an old TVRead More show or why they post so much about one thing day in and day out. I do hope they get a life one day. Until then, thanks for the chuckles. Sometimes this schlock really does make my morning.

Of course any dog can viciously attack. The truth is that pit bulls were specifically bred to fightRead More against bulls in a ring for the entertainment of humans. Through centuries, breeders have hone down their skills for this one occupation. The heavy jaws and ability to hold onto their victims are but two characteristics that were bred into this type of dog. Not all pitbulls inherited all of the traits, but enough have done so. Pit bulls require owners who are aware of the breed's history and have the ability to channel the particular traits that come along with ownership. Any vicious bichon attacks reported lately???

I would Not vote for Kelly Ayotte . She immediately joined the good old boys when arriving in DC .Read More NH is exempt from Obama care , but she doesn't let it be known , and votes like a Democrat . She is definately not a concervative .

she courted the tea party patriots in New Hampshire before she was elected, but I think everyoneRead More drowns in the powerful two party swamp that is Washington, DC when they get there. I don't how we change that. I think that fiscal constraints on congress would help curb their power. I think that a simple tax code that everyone pays with no deductions for anyone would curb that power. I think that demanding that congress take a pay cut to the national average wage and pay for their own benefits would curb that power. can't live in DC on the national average wage? too bad.

I will vote for Hillary most definitely.
Bonnie Ward April 21, 2014 at 06:46 am
Yes - I think Hillary Clinton will be a spectacular President and while I think she should have beenRead More elected in 2008, I think her stint as SoS will have enhanced her potential to be one of our greatest leaders.

Definitely will add these to my long, long list of "to reads". Maybe I'll live longRead More enough to get to them all. Just finished an oldie but goodie ... but you know? The stories only stay with me for a while, I read so much that I forget what I've already read and after the first few pages, I get into it again and often continue since I liked it the first time around. There will never be enough hours in any day to read all I want to and thank goodness and God for Goodreads and, of course, my library and you, Danielle, for adding to my lists. Was offered a Kindle but know what? I really prefer to hold that book in my lap to read, plus I prefer to use my library ... it's FREE, for goodness sake, why would I pay to read anything but a newspaper? And, even that can be gotten at the library. If nothing else, I just love the smell of a library! (Sorry for my longwinded-ness ... just love, love books.)
Mamie Huggins April 20, 2014 at 08:37 am
Hey Anna - I'm a book lover too and use the library on occasion. But it's not FREE as you say, it'sRead More paid for by us taxpayers. Also, when I buy a book, especially by an unknown and/or local author, I'm helping that person to keep writing.
Anna Bucciarelli April 20, 2014 at 05:48 pm
Of course you're right Mamie but if I don't have to part with an additional penny from my pocket IRead More feel it's a treat. And you're right too about keeping authors writing I especially like books by new, first-time novelists who often surprise me with the wonder of their words.

So that explains why she's not investigating Benghazi. She's all bipartisan and such. (As if sheRead More has a choice if she wants a chance to be reelected in New Hampshire.) ________________________________________________________ Seriously, Senator Ayotte is a milquetoast Republican in the spirit of Judd Gregg. Nice lady but with very little original substance of her own.
David H. Mirsky April 19, 2014 at 10:09 pm
Kelly Ayotte has a great opportunity to be elected President in 2016.

Kelly Ayotte disappoints as Senator and doesn't deserve to even be dog catcher

This is between you and me, and you want out. Boo-effing-hoo. Cheap-shot me and duck. What aRead More scumbag coward. It bugs you because you know it's true, and so you blame me instead. Grow a pair and quit whining about it.
Stephen D. Clark April 15, 2014 at 07:55 pm
People have tried to intimidate me, and so what? They're all blowhards. None ever follow throughRead More because they don't mean it and it's not worth it. You're more likely to run into someone crazy like that in the parking lot at the mall, and he'll shoot you over a car space. Do you let the possibility stop you? Hell no.

Anyone who has ever seen a new litter of puppies will notice that some in the litter are bold andRead More daring while others are shy and cautious. (Check out "Too Cute" on Animal Planet Saturdays) They haven't had a chance to learn anything yet, but their inherited personalities are already obvious. Dogs have been bred for specific purposes since they were first bred from wolves. Inbred personalities should be taken into consideration when training a new puppy. You'll find that it's a lot easier to train your border collie to herd your chickens than to break him/her of chasing them because it is an inbred drive/desire. Other breeds would ignore the birds entirely. Most pit bull owners know their dogs and train/treat them accordingly. Others don't provide the training and socialization needed. These are the people who sue the police when their dog gets shot while attacking an innocent victim. They can't believe that their dog was capable of hurting anyone, therefore the police must have shot the wrong dog. This situation has been in the news far too often to be coincidence. Owners must be responsible for knowing, training and controlling their dogs. I can't imagine the heartbreak of losing a treasured pet, then being hit with a lawsuit because they had so much faith in their pet's good behavior that they let them roam the neighborhood.
