All this week, we asked you to rate your favorite bar for celebrating St. Patrick's Day in our Best of Patch Readers’ Choice contest. And you did.
The results are in, and the winner is Rolf's, which received 84 percent of the votes. Tied for second place were Culpeppers and Jaime's, which each received 5 percent.
Located at 39 Main St., Rolf's has been a local hangout since 1963. The bar has a jukebox and serves American pub food. And most locals will agree, Rolf's is legendary for St. Patrick's Day, when there's entertainment and green beer and owner Lesley Carlson serves free corned beef sandwiches.
"We are ecstatic to be the winners for this," Carlson said. "St. Paddy's has always been a favorite holiday for Rolf's, dating back to when my father "Dutchie" was alive. Although he was Swedish, this was his favorite holiday and Rolfs is always decked to the hilt in green! The tradition of free corned beef sandwiches (grey of course) and bones on guitar has continued for decades, we are happy to be keep it going! Always guaranteed to be a great time here on St. Patricks Day!"
Review Rolf's yourself, or any of the other local pubs, on the Patch Places page.
And check back Monday for next week's Best of Patch Readers’ Choice contest, the best auto repair shops in town.
