September 11 Ceremony Tuesday

The Fire Department will honor the victims and heroes of that day.

 

Tuesday marks the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, and the North Andover Fire Department is holding a ceremony to commemorate.

The ceremony will be at 9 a.m. in front of Town Hall. All are welcome.

Local Connections

The Sept. 11 tragedy touched the entire nation, including North Andover. Check out these stories from around town, featured last year on the 10th anniversary, from those who lived through it.

  • Bob and Donna Cuomo narrowly escaped the Marriott World Trade Center Hotel on 9/11. Bob was at the hotel for a business presentation when the first plane hit. Donna was just beginning her day in their hotel room on the 15th floor. Check out their recollection of that horrific morning.
  • Before coming to North Andover, Firefighter Steve Sentementes xwas at Ground Zero in the days after the attacks, helping to sift through the wreckage for search and rescue operations. Check out his recollection here.
  • North Andover residents Greg and Jill Herenda reflect on Sept. 11. Jill was working as a flight attendant for Continental Airlines at the time. Greg was a basketball coach in North Carolina. Check out their video here.
