It's not something you'd hear about every day.

Tuesday night at about 11:30 p.m., police received a call reporting a man masturbating on the grass on Route 114.

By the time police arrived there, the man had driven down Route 114, Lt. Charles Gray said. Police searched but didn't find the man.

That is, of course, one of the busiest sections of North Andover, with Routes 114 and 125 intersecting nearby.

At 1:56 p.m., a caller on Salem Street reported that someone had vandalized her house and yard while they were away.

At 3:12 p.m., the groundskeeper at North Andover Country Club reported that youths had vandalized the golf copurse there.

At 5:58 p.m., a caller on Coachmans Lane reported stolen jewelry.
