It's definitely an unusual election year, and that is shown in the Essex 14th District state representative race.
Incumbent Democrat David Torrisi of North Andover is facing a primary challenge by Diana DiZoglio of Methuen. The winner will be decided on Sept. 6, and that person will go on to face Republican Karin Rhoton in November.
