Pair Arrested for Stealing Sign

The following information was supplied by the North Andover Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Some people come to North Andover for the restaurants and downtown shops. Apparently, others come for less conventional things.

North Andover Police Officer Jason Wedge stopped a vehicle in town Monday night noticing something peculiar -- the truck had a "One Way/Do Not Enter" sign in the back, according to police reports.

After speaking with the two men inside the truck and investigating further, Wedge reportedly determined that the sign had been stolen from the area of Osgood Street and Academy Road at the Old Town Center.

Jason Brand, 39, of 319 Island Pond Road, Derry, N.H., and Joseph Drapeau, 21, of 8 Wellington Corner Road, Wellington, Maine, were both arrested for malicious damage and larceny.
