Mystery Man Assaults Himself While Walgreens Has Some Drama
Items from the North Andover Police log of Nov. 17 and 18.
Wednesday, Nov. 17
9:08 a.m. Merrimack College campus police reported seeing a suspicious man on campus punching himself in the head. The man was last seen walking into the woods behind the Volpe Center. Police went there and found nothing.
1:48 p.m. There as a car accident involving two vehicles on Osgood Street near McLay's Florist & Garden Center. The cars were towed, and the drivers were taken to Lawrence General Hospital with minor injuries.
2:42 p.m. A caller on Turnpike Street reported that a man threatened to damage his vehicle in a parking lot. An officer went to the scene and spoke to both parties. Peace was restored.
5:03 p.m. Police responded to a report from Kohl's Department Store on Winthrop Avenue, where a woman had allegedly shoplifted. The woman was banned from the store, and a report was filed.
9:59 p.m. A caller reported a tree down in the road at 80 Chickering Road. Police called Mass. Highway and had it removed.
Thursday, Nov. 18
5:00 a.m. An off-duty officer reported a vehicle parked on Main Street near Waverly Road. The vehicle was apparently unoccupied with the front bumper damaged. Police checked nearby vehicles for damages but found none.
3:12 p.m. A caller reported youths in Veterans Memorial Park creating trouble. An officer went to the scene but reported that the kids were just playing and there were no problems.
4:11 p.m. A caller from Walgreens reported that a man tried to pass a false prescription. He had already left the store, but Walgreens got his information and a photo. Police filed a report and are investigating.
5:12 p.m. A caller on High Street reported that his car was broken into earlier that day while he was working. His car window was broken and his GPS stolen.
9:39 p.m. A manager at Walgreens called and reported that a customer told her that her family was threatened. Police filed a report.
