The following are excerpts from the North Andover Police log. The information is open to the public.

Tuesday, June 14

1:15 p.m. An employee at Rite Aid reported seeing a man steal cosmetics and flee in a taxi. Police stopped the taxi and arrested Joel Barbosa, 26, of Lawrence, for larceny over $250 as well as trial warrants.

4:20 p.m. A manager at Bertucci's reported a group of people hanging out in the parking lot, taking up parking spaces. Police spoke with the group, who said they were just celebrating Flag Day. The people then moved to the other side of the building.

6:10 p.m. A caller reported a fight on Sargent Street. Police later arrested Dennis Washington, 18, of 86 Martin Ave., for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

7:46 p.m. A caller at Market Basket reported a man throwing water bottles at her car in the parking lot. Police spoke with both people, and peace was restored.
