Man Arrested For Growing Pot in Duplex

Police say a local man was growing marijuana in an empty half of a duplex downtown.
Brian McDonald, 25, of 90 Saunders St., North Andover, was arrested for manufacture of a class D substance Monday.
Police received a call Monday morning just after 6 p.m. by a resident who reported two suspicious people entering an unoccupied home on Saunders Street. Police went to the home to investigate the possible break-in and found marijuana plants growing in a vacant half of a duplex, according to Police Lt. Charles Gray.
Police confiscated the plants as evidence and did not go into detail about the amount of plants they found, but Gray said it was a substantial amount.
McDonald was arrested and transported to Lawrence District Court Tuesday morning.

Sunday, Sept. 9
At 12:42 a.m., police saw youths on the intersection of Milk Street and Salem Street, and the youths ran off. Police eventually found them near the Fire Station, brought them home and spoke with their mother.
Ay 2:49 a.m., three juveniles were arrested on Johnson Street for being in possession of alcohol.
At 3:59 p.m., a caller reported seeing a male and a female in a physical altercation on Route 114. Police did not find the people in question.
At 11:05 p.m., Merrimack College Police arrested Charles McAndrew, 20, of 31 Halls Lane, Kent, Conn., for assault and batter of a police officer, destruction of property, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and indecent exposure.
