Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Happy Thanksgiving!

What are you thankful for this year?

It's Thanksgiving, that time of year when we reflect on what we're thankful for this year, watch a parade and some football, and indulge in a feast with family and friends.

Government offices and most businesses are closed today. For restaurants that are open, click here.

As editor of North Andover Patch, I'm thankful for another year of engagement with the community, meeting new people and keeping in touch with people I already knew, hearing hundreds of great stories from around town and being welcomed onto your computer screen -- or mobile device -- every day.

I'm thankful that North Andover offers a vast selection of local businesses to write about, filled with nice people who are more than just strangers with name tags. Remember to shop local this weekend!

I'm thankful for the wonderful stories of North Andover people helping others -- there are way too many to list here but the most recent was the amazing Hurricane Sandy relief drive that delivered a huge truck full of supplies to Queens, N.Y.

I'm thankful for an exciting election season I was able to cover, although I'm also very thankful that it's over.

I'm thankful for North Andover Patch's amazing blogger community, which continues to grow every week and offers a wide variety of viewpoints, information and perspectives.

Health, family, friends, living in North Andover, and that the tree that came down in the Burying Ground did not damage any grave stones.
