Fundraiser to Help Injured Couple

Former North Andover residents were critically injured in Monday's explosions.

Among the scores of people injured in Monday's explosions at the Boston Marathon is a Charlestown couple who used to live in North Andover. And their friends are raising money to help.

Ann and Eric Whalley, who lived in North Andover for many years, sustained critical injuries in the blasts.

According to a fundraising website established by friends of the family, Ann Whalley suffered severe external wounds and Eric Whalley suffered brain trauma and damage to his legs.

"The Whalley family has a long road ahead of them physically and emotionally as they recover together from this horrible tragedy. As friends of the Whalley family, we are raising a recovery fund to help ease the financial burden of this devastating incident on the family. All funds raised will be go directly to the Whalley family to assist with expenses related to this tragedy. Please help spread the word and donate if you can."

As of Thursday night, the fund had raised more than $60,000.
