Five Things to Do This Weekend

Some fun for your weekend planner.

 

It's Friday, and you're wondering what to do this weekend. Here are five things you can do locally.

 

1. Comedy Night

When/Where: Friday at 9 p.m. at Lots Of Laughs Comedy Lounge.

Why Go: The event will feature comedians Jeanne Sullivan-Toomey, Mitch Stinson and Mike McDonald.

2. Children's Theater

When/Where: Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

Why Go: The Fairy Tale Players will perform ":Jack and the Beanstalk."

The performance, for for children age 1 to 8 and their families, will introduce children to self-expression through audience participation. Children are invited to share their talent during the show, which incorporates music and movement and teaches children about stagecraft.

3. Eternal Light: A Musical Meditation

When/Where: Saturday at 7 p.m. at St. Michael Parish.

Why Go: The New England Classical Singers will perform sacred music by Poulenc, Palestrina and Lauridsen.

4. Merrimack Valley Philharmonic Performance

When/Where: Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Merrimack College.

Why Go: The Merrimack Valley Philharmonic Orchestra will feature award-winning violinist Zina Schiff, who has performed throughout North America, Eastern and Western Europe, Israel and Australia.

5. Sunday Night Public Skating

When/Where: Sunday at 6:40 p.m. at Brooks School.

Why Go: This week's winter weather didn't freeze the ponds, but you can still enjoy the winter fun of ice skating indoors for $3 per person.
