Five Things to Do This Weekend

Some fun for your weekend planner.

 

Hopefully the holiday season isn't stressing you out. But if it is, there are plenty of things you can this weekend with relaxation in mind. Whether you need to send the kids for a night out, go out to a comedy show, or go ice skating, you can do it locally.

1. Best of Boston Comedy Show

When/Where: Tonight at 9 p.m. at China Blossom in North Andover. 

Why Go?: Scotty Lombardo, Sal Votano, and John David will be on hand to make your sides ache throughout the evening. Admission is $20 per person or pay $40 for the special dinner and show package. Call 978-687-1789 for reservations and more information. 

2. Sunday Night Public Skating

When/Where: Sunday night at 6:40 p.m. at Brooks School in North Andover. 

Why Go?: The fee is $3 and you can skate for a couple of hours at a leisurely pace or carving through the ice and around everyone. There are no rentals available. Check out other skating opportunites here.

3. Kids Night Out

When/Where: Tonight at 6 p.m. at Ready, Set, Go! Kid's Fitness at 126 Merrimack St. in Methuen.

Why Go?: Kids ages 3-10 can stop by for a full night of gymnastics, sports, arts, crafts, and games. Pre-registration is required so give them a call at 978-685-7704. Fee for members is $30 and $35 for non-members.

4. Ladies Kickboxing

When/Where: Saturday at 8 a.m. at the Merrimack Valley Martial Arts Academy

Why Go?: Get in shape and kick some you know what. Classes cost $60 for a six week course. Call 978-237-5956 for more information or check out mvmaa.com.

5. Lady Sundevils AAU Tryouts

When/Where: Saturday at 9 a.m. at Lowell Catholic High School (530 Stevens St., Lowell).

Why Go?: Do you know a girl who is anywhere between grades 4 and 12 that knows their way around a basketball court? Now is their time to shine. Tryout fee is $30. The AAU program is non-profit. Call director Kevin Regan at 978-453-7064 for more information or visit masundevils.com.
