It's Friday, and you're wondering what to do this weekend. In addition to Mother's Day brunch, which we're sure you have already planned (hint, hint), here are some local ideas for the weekend.
1. North Andover Jazz Night Free Concert
When/Where: 7 p.m. at North Andover High School.
Why Go: Featured Guest will be Jim Repa, a Boston musician who plays alto and soprano saxophone, flute and alto flute.
When/Where: Friday at 9 p.m. at Lots Of Laughs Comedy Lounge.
Why Go: This event will feature comedians Jeanne Sullivan-Toomey, Jack Walsh, Mike Cote and Mike McDonald.
3. North Andover Haverhill Animal Hospital Open House
When/Where: Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at North Andover Haverhill Animal Hospital.
Why Go: This new veterinary hospital will have its grand opening and open house, with raffles/giveaways, tours of the hospital and lectures from both Dr. Murtha and Dr. Maffezzoli. The Salem Animal Rescue League will have adoptable dogs and will be doing dog washes for a donation to the Salem Animal Resuce Leauge. They will also be having a professional pet photographer from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and for a $20 donation to the Salem Animal Rescue League, one can get a photo shoot and a 5x7 picture of their pet mailed to them.
4. Pet Nail Clipping
When/Where: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ciao! Bow Wow.
Why Go: The Sandy & Phyllis team will be there offering nail clipping.
While you're there, the store is having a sale on Lotus canned cat food.
When/Where: Saturday from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. at VFW Post 2104.
Why Go: The Anderson family is holding this fundraiser to help battle MECP2 Duplication Syndrome, a genetic condition discovered in 2005. All 4 Adam will feature live entertainment, raffles, auctions, refreshments and more. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased by emailing all4adam2012@gmail.com. Tickets will also be available at the door.
