Dogs On the Loose and Cats in Hiding

The following information was supplied by the North Andover Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following are excepts from the North Andover Police log.

Friday, Aug. 17

At 11:11 a.m., there was a loose brown dog -- a boxer -- loose in the area of Chestnut Street. The dog was later found and brought to Andover Animal Hospital.

At 8:19 p.m., a caller on Edgelawn Avenue reported that an evicted woman was in an apartment there. The woman was just there looking for a cat.

At 8:27 p.m., a caller on Chestnut Street reported a bat in their house. The bat flew out on its own and no one was reported bitten.

At 8:31 p.m., a caller on Johnson Street reported that her dog ran off her friend's porch. The dog is a chocolate brown toy poodle and has tags on.
