Do You Worry About Your Packages?
With a recent caught-on-video package theft making headlines in neighboring Salem, we have to ask: do you worry about the safety of your packages?
The story of Bill Bushong's stolen birdcage and the video surveillance he captured of a woman stealing a package from his front porch right across the bridge in Salem was featured on a handful of local news stations.
Here in North Andover, Police Lt. Charles Gray said there were a few package thefts this holiday season but not as many as last year.
Last holiday season, there was a spike in package thefts from people's doorsteps, especially in the more rural parts of town.
Police suggest taking extra precautions if you're expecting a package delivery, such as requesting the package only be left with a person who signs for it or arranging to have it dropped off to a neighbor.
Do you ever worry that the items you order won't be there when you get home? Do incidents like the recent theft on Mason Street in Salem have you mulling over the installation of surveillance equipment of your own?
How can similar thefts be prevented in the future?

That happened to us last year. A couple guys were following the UPS Delivery truck and as he was dropping off the packages tat the door he guy would pick them up and run with them. My son actually witnessed this from our window. I didn't believe him when he told me some one ran off with our box!
