1. Get a username. Register for a username/password (for yourself, or your organization, or both) so you can upload things and comment.

2. Post Announcements. Is your group new, or there's something about it you'd like to share? Post an announcement by clicking the Announcement option under the news tab on the homepage. On the right side of the screen you’ll see the button “Add an Announcement.” This will you take you to Patch’s new announcement form. Once there, get your brag on and tell the community all about your child's sports league win or your civic club’s new members. When you’re ready, click “publish my announcement” and it will go live to the site immediately.

3. Post Events. You have events that are important to you, and you want them to be well attended. Posting an event is easy. Just log in, go to the Events page and click “Add an Event” on the right side of the page. Tell us all the details about your upcoming event, then click “post my event” at the bottom of the page. That puts the event directly on our calendar immediately.

4. Upload Photos. When you post an event or an announcement, you can also upload photos to it. That's a great way to show off your organization and get your face out there.

5. Blog. Your orgnization probably does interesting things and promotes interesting ideas. Why not blog about it? Blogging is very easy as well. Simply click the "start a blog" button on our homepage, click "post on Patch," and fill out the required fields. You can upload photos and videos to your blog posts too. When done, hit "save and preview" and then submit it to us. At the chance you receive an error message, ("oops!" is one we see from time to time), just email the editor at Bryan.McGonigle@patch.com to see if we can see the blog on our end. More likely than not, we'll see it in our queue and will be able to click "approve."

After you upload an announcement, event or blog post, you can give your Patch editor a heads up via email (Bryan.McGonigle@patch.com) so we know it's there and can promote it for you.
