Sensational Sushi Stops Close By

Stop in for some sushi at one of these local favorites.

When it comes to comfort foods, many opt for traditional dishes such as meatloaf, mashed potatoes, or grilled cheese sandwiches.

There is a certain constituency, however, who find comfort in the joy of raw fish. You know who you are.

Here are a few places within the Andovers where you can find tight maki rolls, juicy nigiri, and all the wasabi and soy sauce you can handle.

1. China Blossom

This North Andover favorite has fed the town since 1960. Nothing beats watching a comedy show with some good company and munching on maki.

During buffet hours, unlimited vegetarian sushi is available as well as multiple raw fish options such as tuna and salmon.

Check out the restaurant’s Web site by clicking here, and remember that reservations are suggested as the Blossom fills up quickly on weekends.

2. Mootone Fine Japanese Cuisine

On Railroad Street in Andover, you will find a trendy Japanese steakhouse that has seemingly infinite choices.

To compliment the sushi bar, Mootone offers vegetarian and vegan dishes. It also has a first class vegetable stir fry which can accompany your maki if you are hungry enough.

The unagi sushi (eel) is a specialty here. Check out mootone.com for a full menu.

3. Shunju Chinese Restaurant

Shunju is tucked away in Jasmine Plaza on 114 in North Andover. The sushi bar is phenomenal and so is the regular bar.

The equally important bars are perpendicular to one another making consumption of cold drinks and delicious fish as efficient and effective as possible.

Give the spicy tuna maki a try here and make sure you have something to wash it down with.

Ya'll forgot Inaka Sushi! It definitely sits atop the border between North Andover/Lawrence, but they've got a great sushi restaurant with delicious daily specials! :)

Wendy, thanks for mentioning that! I also love the Sushi at Inaka. Technically they are over the border in Lawrence so we don't have their listing on our site. You can check out their website and menu here: http://www.inakasushi.com/

Oh yeah, Inaka rocks! Also a fantastic Korean food menu there. I would love to see more Lawrence restaurants written up here too. For many North Andover residents Lawrence is actually closer than Andover.
